-you sometimes need wax that they'll give you to keep the braces from cutting your mouth and sometimes you need to have rubber bands going from the top of your mouth to the bottom of your mouth to fix an over-bite or under-bite


-I dont know about gum or tooth disease


-yes, a person can be both a dentist and an orthodontist


-you don't wear a retainer while you have braces on. once you get your braces off, your orthodontist will fit your mouth for a retainer to keep your teeth from moving


-if you dont wear your retainer after your braces come off, yes, your teeth can drastically move back to the way they were before the braces
