im 5 months pregnant and just relized that my 3 bottom teeth are somewhat loose! not to where i can actually move them with my tounge, but i can tell they are a little loose. does this happen in pregnancy and does any one know if these teeth will fall out, or maybe firm up eventually? just curious because its always been a fear to loose a tooth.
Since ive been pregnant my bottom teeth have became loose are they going to fall out? im terrified!?
When you are pregnant, your baby takes nearly everything out of your body. Hopefully you are taking your prenatal vitamins as you should, maybe talk to your doctor about this or even call up the nurse and discuss it with her. It could be all you really need is some extra calcium and you can find calcium vitamins in your local store. Don't mess with the teeth, more than likely, your gums will tighten back up and they will be fine. I hope this helps, do see your doctor though. Good luck.
Reply:Begin to eat better immediately and take calcium and other minerals, and vitamins.
Reply:i heard you can loose a tooth in each pregnancy maybe you should take your prenatal vitamins
Reply:I remember when I was pregnant both times my teeth would get like that...almost like they feel sore/moved after a dental cleaning. I'm sorry I cant give you a definate answer, but thats just personal experience :)
Reply:I would fill the page up with this, but at the risk of getting flagged for spamming, I'll only type it thrice:
Calcium vitamins.
Calcium vitamins.
Calcium vitamins.
Take 'em.
No, your teeth probably won't fall out.
Reply:I had my baby.. always had GREAT teeth. After my pregnancy I had over 1500 dollars of cavities! All the calcuim was drained out of my teeth during pregnancy. NOw with this pregnancy I already notice some tooth aches!
Reply:Don't worry. When you are pregnant some funny things happen to your body. Changes in your gums are one of them. When I was pregnant I used to bleed every time I brushed my teeth. If you are really worried, then go visit your dentist. It is safe to see them as long as you are not getting x-rays. After the baby, your mouth will return to it's normal self.
Your hair... now that is another story...
Good luck with your pregnancy!
Reply:Teeth are anchored with ligaments. When you are pregnant, your body releases hormones which relax your ligaments to make it easier to give birth. This can make your teeth feel a little loose, and this is entirely normal. You might also notice some bleeding in you gums when you brush your teeth.
If you are getting a reasonable diet, there isn't a problem and your teeth will return to normal after your delivery. If you have any concerns, see a dentist or talk with your obstetrician.
Reply:Make sure you are keeping up with good dental hygiene techniques and keeping all scheduled dental appointments. Most dental procedures are safe during pregnancy, just make sure to tell your dentist that you are pregnant before being treated. If you dont have a scheduled appointment already MAKE ONE! Dont ignore other aspects of your health just because you are pregnant. Your over-all health(yes including your teeth) effect your baby too. Good luck!
