My upper teeth on the left side feel loose. I have been to several dentists about this and they can't seem to figure out whats causing this or why. Its driving me crazy.
I am 25 and think my teeth are loose?
A real dentist would not just say "I can't figure it out so there is no problem." Loose teeth are always a problem because they will get looser and looser until they fall out or get pockets that become infected making them need to be pulled out. The answer that talked about good dental care and seeing a periodontist was absolutely correct. I would bet that if you went to a periodontist he would see pockets about 10mm deep which is a hair's breadth away from disaster.
Periodontal disease is not just for adults - there is also Juvenile Periodontal Disease (JPD) that can get your teeth loose as a teenager. Dental care combined with treating the episodes of infection will stabilize your teeth and stop their progression to falling out.
Reply:see a peridontist. you may have bone loss or gum disease.
Reply:If your teeth are getting loose, it's usually a sign of periodontal disease. I can't believe your dentist can't get to the bottom of this. Are you flossing daily, as well as brushing the teeth and gums? Did they do a deep cleaning for you? Have they measured the pockets around the gums. If the measurements are under 3 mm. that is considered normal. If the pockets are 4 or above, that is indicative of periodontal disease. Could it be that your bite is off, and your teeth just feel funny or loose?
Please keep trying to find out. If your teeth are actually loose, you need to see a periodontist, as I am sure you want to save your teeth.
Good Luck!
