Loose teeth after a fight?
First of all, make sure you don't bite anything with these teeth while they are trying to heal. Did they take an x-ray of the teeth at the hospital? I doubt it; hospitals normally refer you to your dentist.
You need to see a dentist, have an x-ray to make sure the roots are still intact, and if so, often we splint the teeth together while the ligaments are trying to heal. This is done by bonding a wire behind the teeth like a permanent retainer.
Sometimes a blow to the teeth is just too much injury to the nerve and can cause the teeth to abscess. In that case you would need root canal treatment.
Even if it is the teeth are just loose because the ligaments have been stretched, it will take some time to heal. Think about it like when you get a "charlie horse." It's the same idea that it needs to settle down.
Reply:hmmm not sure. i would drinnk milk and just hang in there and see what happens. If your not sure then get a second opinion from your dentist or another dentist!
Reply:go and see a dentist get the proper advice , maybe an Nhs one ? good luck and keep the smile you deserve ;-)
Reply:When ever I got into a fight and got hit, they always tightened up. But when I got older, it took longer.
Reply:Yes the nurse is right the gums will tighten around the teeth mite take about 10 days but should be fine dont worry.
Reply:DO NOT WIGGLE THEM.
They won't go back into place if you keep checking them by wiggling them.
You should make a dentist appointment at once though.
He may be able to do something that will help you keep those teeth.
Believe me, you don't want to lose them.
Reply:i would go to the dentist right away and drink loads of milk. ive been in a fight where ive actually lost teeth...and the teeth that were loose tightened up about a day later. (hope you knocked that guy up good for doing that to ya!!)
Reply:The best thing to do is see your dentist. While its true the ligaments do tighten up on their own they don't always.Your dentist may place a retainer attached to the inside of your teeth to maintain the placement and to help keep them stable until they are firmly re established.
Reply:Happened to me many times, nurse or doctor is rite theyll set back into place, if not then its dentist time lol
