My 8 year old daughter bottom teeth are loose. Not severely but you can see them wiggle I will call our dentist tomorrow morning but has anyone had this problem? They are adult teeth that is why I am very worried.
She sees a dentist every 6 months and was there just a month ago and had a good check up.
My 8 year old's bottom teeth are loose?
HELLO KRIS,
THE ROOTS FOR THESE ADULT TEETH HAVE NOT HAD THEIR ROOTS COMPLETELY CLOSED, AS THIS WON'T HAPPEN FOR A TIME LONGER. THERE IS A SLIGHT MOVEMENT ON A VERY SLIGHT SCALE NORMALLY FOR ADULT TEETH WHEN THEY ARE HEALTHY.
DO NOT PLAY WITH THESE TEETH TO SEE HOW MUCH THEY CAN WIGGLE.
Reply:Are you sure those aren;t baby teeth? Has she lost her 1st set of teeth from that area?
Reply:some people have another set after that, i did so if they are loose something must be pushing them up
Reply:Yes there is always slight movement in teeth I guess especially when the roots haven't completely formed. But if you can see them wiggle - gosh I don;t think that should be like that. Take her to the dentist. Has she had a knock on them recently? A fall? or a knock from the door or bike or a ball maybe. Often when we have a knock on the tooth they become loose, that is the only reasonable explanation. Anyway good luck
