Loose teeth and braces? orthos and dentists HELP !?
If you remember, the first time you got your braces on, it hurt for a week or two. That was because your teeth were moving for the first time and breaking the bonds that held them to your jaw bones. Braces keep your teeth in constant motion (even if you don%26#039;t notice it!) because it is easier to move the teeth if they are re-establishing there bonds with your bones before your next adjustment, which is also why the discomfort after your adjustments is far less than when you had your braces put on.

After your braces are removed, you will have to wear retainer(s) for the first 7 weeks day and night so that your teeth can re-establish their bonds with your jaw bones. It can be a slow process depending on the age and health of the person, but that%26#039;s why you have to be diligent when it comes to wearing your retainer(s). If you don%26#039;t wear them let you are instructed to, you teeth can shift and go back into their old, unfavourable positions.

After a year or so, you teeth should be stable enough that you only need to wear your retainer a couple of times a week at night, depending on your body.
Reply:Teeth get loose with braces as your teeth are moving, it%26#039;s nothing to worry about, I%26#039;ve had my braces of for over a year and my teeth are still a bit loose.
