my 5 month puppy just lost one of his back baby teeth!
is that normal??
Are puppies supposte to loose baby teeth!? plese HELP!!!?
Yep.
Dogs have "baby teeth" as well as adult ones. They usually start losing the puppy teeth at around 4-6 mos, depending on breed. This is good. Those puppy teeth are sharp little needles to help them break down the kibble. Once they begin chewing (instead of nursing) they also begin to strengthen their jaw muscles. Once these are better developed they do not have need of such sharp little needle teeth; they can crush and grind their food instead of splintering it.
Your pup will be teething until he is about a year old, now, so be sure and provide good quality chew toys like nylabones, kongs, etc. Rawhides are good for helping extract the puppy teeth but make sure he does not bite off and swallow large pieces, as they can swell in the digestive tract and cause blockages.
Reply:YES! Don't panic, just like a human, puppies lose their teeth too.
Reply:Yes, this is very normal. Puppies lose their baby teeth just like human babies do. Don't fret, your pup will grow in his adult, permanent teeth soon. :o)
Reply:Yes, they start losing their baby teeth at about 16 weeks and the adult teeth should be in by about 6 months.
Reply:Absolutely normal. Like adults puppies lose baby teeth and get replaced with adult teeth. Nothing to worry about. Best of Luck! =]
Reply:Yes, don't worry!
Reply:Sure, they lose them just like people do!!! Don't expect to find alot of them, cause they usually swallow them and it's ok. I have 2 rat terriers and I have ALOT of their baby teeth I found, which was surprising to me!
Reply:yes it is very normal my dog did ...not to worry this is very normal theres works just like our does
Reply:Yep, totally. AND! the new permanent teeth won't be as wicked pointy as the old ones. Hooray!

Reply:yes, completely normal. they have one set of deciduous teeth and one set of permanent teeth, just like humans. He´s at the right age for it too.
Reply:yes. theyre mammals so they lose baby teeth. its completely fine. just make sure they dont choke on it or something.
and no tug-o-war. it make their teeth crooked.
Reply:yes there just like us they have baby teeth and adult teeth but just becareful when the new teeth come in cause there gums are soft and can cause damage when play rough or eat to hard of food or treats
Reply:Yes- Puppies (just like Human Babies) lose their Baby or Milk-Teeth - which are then replaced by the 2nd (Permanent) set of Teeth, to include Molar-Teeth.
Reply:Yep all dogs have baby teeth, but don't expect to find them after they fall out. Your dog most likely swallowed them. My puppy went through it and yours will to. :)
