My little dog has very rotten teeth, some have already fallen out, from the beginning, brushing has not helped at all. I have no money and my only option to not lose him to infection is to try to pull the loose ones out myself, but it's not going to be easy, I don't want to hurt him, but have no choice. Any ideas to put him out briefly or to numb his mouth?
Dog with rotten teeth. Must pull loose ones myself, any ideas that won't hurt him much? Please read on below.
So you don't like the answers that you are getting so you repost the question?
Listen, you are not trained to do oral surgery on your dog. If you do it, you can be charged with animal cruelty and abuse.
You have a choice, don't own a dog if you can't afford veterinary care. Since you say that your dog's teeth have been a problem from the beginning, obviously you haven't sought vet care for your poor dog.
The question isn't how to numb or anesthetize your dog, but how you can get medical care for your pet.
If you try to knock him out, you will kill him. And he will be better off for it.
Reply:Have a vet use a local anesthesia on him at least.Think how you'd feel having teeth pulled
Reply:The dog needs antibiotics. If you pull the teeth, bacteria will spread and make him sicker.I don't know of any way to knock him out that isn't dangerous, and there will be bleeding as well. Can't you borrow some money or sell something to take him to a vet? They can prescribe antibiotics and work out a payment plan to have his teeth pulled.Call around until you find a vet who will work with you.
Reply:Oh come on now.
You can cut some corners and get on a payment plan at your vet's, can't you? Have you exhausted all possibilities? Any sliding scale clinics near you?
I understand you want the best for your dog - we all do - but you must try your best to make a case to allow a professional to do a dental.
Reply:You shouldn't do that yourself. What happens if you pull one out, and it is attached to a vain? The dog might bleed to death. I'm sure you can manage to get some money, and if you can't, then you shouldn't have a dog.
Reply:You have a choice. In fact you have many options.
You're just being cheap.
If you can afford internet service and a computer - you can afford vet care.
Doing this yourself, and denying needed care to your dog is abuse. You should be ashamed of yourself.
If you can't provide this dog with the care it needs, you should relinquish him to the ASPCA or other rescue group. You are not qualified as an appropriate owner.
I'd love to be your dentist. I'd show you the compassion you are showing your dog.
Reply:You can rub cloves around his tooth to help with pain. They kind of numb the area and are fairly safe for dogs.
