Do permanent teeth grow in the same place where you loose your baby teeth?

My daughter ( 5yrs) just come to me and told me her tooth is loose. I was looking at it and I noticed another tooth coming in right behind the loose one. Is it normal to have your permanent tooth coming in right behind the baby tooth and the baby tooth isnt even out yet?

well not always thats why baby teeht are mostly straighter than permannet teeth, most permanent teeth grow in crooked
