I have braces. Is it normal that some of the teeth are loose?

Some of my tooth are loose, and I have braces on. I'm scared. Will they keep getting loose? All my teeth are adult teeth. (which is why I'm so scared) Once I get my braces off, will my teeth tighten back up, and not be so loose anymore? Or will it get worse or stay the same? Please help, I'm REALLY scared.

Ok so before I was an RN I was a RDA for 14 years in an orthodontists office. So this is you anwer, your teeth must get loose or they cannot be moved into the new position. The wires streatch the periodontal ligaments (the tiny muscle that hold the teeth into the socket) also a small amount of bone is resorbed around the root of the tooth. When the orthodontist has your teeth in position they will be held in place with a heavy arch wire that will support them. The bone will be regrown around the root of the tooth and the ligaments will "learn" the new position. When you have your braces removed you will need to wear retainers like a splint for a broken arm. If you do as you are told and follow instructions all will be well. Have faith and smile!

Reply:It gets better. Your teeth are shifting to straighten. They will tighten up again.
Reply:yeah. its cuz wen the teth move the gum has to grow around it. dont worry bout it
Reply:no that is the opposite of normal the teeth should feel tighter because the braces hold them very tight..You should go to your dentist or get someone to look at it.
Reply:Hey, thats a good thing. It means that your teeth are moving where they need to be. Just let it be, dont shake em or anything. It'll settle back once your teeth are where it needs to be. Just keep wearing your retainers after our braces are off--you dont want them to shift back again.
Reply:Yes Your teeth are moving into their proper places
Reply:this is normal ur teeth r like moving so they can get straight trust me i just got ma braces tightned like yesterday n wen was @ skool they were lose cuz they were getting straight
Reply:they are not loose, its just the gums loosening to allow the teeth to shift to their new positions. no worries, they won't fall out, after a few days, you'll feel that the teeth are back to normal. stay cool and smile
Reply:I'll guess you had a "clean bill of dental health" before your orthodontic treatment was started. If I guessed correctly then what you are experiencing is normal and to be expected when braces are used to correct crowding, spacing and align the teeth.

If I guessed incorrectly then you have a serious problem and should see a periodontist as soon as possible.

If I guessed correctly, there is absolutely nothing to worry about now or when your treatment is finished.

I hope for your sake and that of your orthodontist, I guessed correctly. If so, all the best on your future smile!
Reply:dont be scared, this is normal once your treatment is over and the brackets are off be sure to wear the retainers. things will tighen up
Reply:It is perfectly normal. This is how braces work. They will tighten up when the orthodontist is done moving them.
