Loose/displaced teeth after trauma...?

Hi guys, about a month ago, fell and hurt my front tooth. It chipped on 3 surfaces. So i went to the dentist and he told me to go back 2 weeks later to have it filled. I went back to 2 weeks later as told to have it filled. However, after filling, i've began to notice that the tooth that got hurt is starting to get loose, and it seems like the tooth is not in normal position before i fell.

So, i paid no real attention to it seeing that it would heal and tighten up itself in a week or two. However, i waited for 2-3 weeks and it isnt tightened. I was worried so i went to the dentist to have a check at it again. The dentist examined it and found that my tooth was indeed loose. He told me to let it firm up on its own and to go back a month later to have a review.

Anyway, thats the scenario. My question is, are loose and displaced tooth supposed to hurt any at all? and do you think the tooth will firm up on its own? Thanks.

Anyway, its been 2 days after i went to the dentist...

if theres too much bone loss and too much loss of supporting tissuse thn m very sorry only impants or transplants can be done and a good xray can reveal ur condition of bone loss so if its too much bone loss u better get rid of it

Reply:well teeth become loose or displaced if their attachments(periodontal attachments-the attachments which hold the tooth firmly in its place) are dettached or damaged...I assume your dentist filled your teeth because they were chipped off but apart from that if the condition is a bit severe you usually get your teeth root canal therapy(because of the impact it has on the tooth roots) and the displaced teeth are binded in such a way that their mobility diminishes.this treatment is done for a few weeks so that periodontal attachments come back to their normal state and your teeth mobility diminishes...

having said that I have not seen your teeth clinically. There are cases in which the tooth has very very slight mobility and it is very slightly displaced...in these cases no treatment is done to restrict its mobility.the tooth is left alone and its mobility with time diminishes...

so the best thing you could do is to get your self checked by another better dentist for opinion
